As one does in music, I'm looking to convert someone to Mostly Autumn. He's a Pink Floyd fan, but I've only got the albums from Passengers and newer. Can anyone suggest songs from these latest few albums that a Pink Floyd fan might like? This way I can make up a CD of the songs for his listening pleasure! Thanks!

Posts: 37 (12-05-09 12:24) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	For me the most obvious ones from that period would be: Passengers (the song), Carpe Diem, Storms Over Still Water (the song), Further From Home, Glass Shadows (the song). Also quite Floydy to my ears - Pure White Light, Another Life, Candle To The Sky, Softer Than Brown, The Second Hand ... On the earlier albums you'd find many more examples ... recommended purchases of course! :-) But that misses out a great wealth of less-Floydy songs your friend might like - and of course many people prefer different eras of Floyd ... Bryan's voice is very reminiscent of Dave Gilmour at times, so there's that angle too ... Remember the music's all copyright - so beware giving away CD compilations however well-intentioned, better to play the person a selection of tracks if the opportunity arises, but good luck, he clearly has good musical taste so you're half way there ... ;-) Hope this helps, Chris.

And the CD's for a car trip (I'm giving him a lift), so it's still my disk, but with the intention of making him ask "oh, who's this?"

Posts: 7 (20-06-09 10:17) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	If you are able to find a copy of the CD, or better still the DVD, of Pink Floyd Revisited, the puzzle is easily solved. It stays close to the original Floyd sound, with MA putting their own unmistakable stamp on it. It's a stunning interpretation of the Floyd music. If Echoes does not blow him away, nothing will. This was my own chance introduction to the music of MA, and did it for me. Now I rate MA right up there with the Floyd - the best of the best. A look at the MA conveyor belt of classic albums will inevitably follow.
