Who Has been To Stonethwaite,Borrowdale here in MA land? I went at the start of October I had 2 great days and abit of a cloudy day, but the day I went to
Stonethwaite was wonderful and got the feel of sense of the place and the inspiration that MA get from being around Borrowdale and Derwent Water so if you have
been there too tell us what you thought.

England's most beautiful spot
It was 4 New Pence to camp when I first went there, the little coffee shop in the hamlet had just opened and a mug of coffee was 3 New Pence -- the proprietor (still the same one) agrees that there has been "some" inflation. We have been sunburned, wind blown, frozen, moistened, muddied, snowed on and almost drowned over a period of what must be some, ahem, months now. So DT, I suggest you get yourself back there to sample all that this remarkable location has to offer! As an aside, I also briefly met the Who at the aforementioned coffee shop whilst they were filming Tommy -- not for them the 4P campsite, they were staying at the Borrowdale hotel! It is a marvellous place settled under Eagle Crag and at the foot of Langstrathdale, a valley over 5 miles long running right into the heart of lakeland, well away from tarmac , and unusually for a large lakeland valley devoid of any major tourist track once you have passed the turn off to Langdale. I'm starting to get itchy feet --- time to change the socks |

Yes it is an extreemly beautiful and inspirational place, in fact "The Spirit Of Autumn Past" was written there on the camp site along with many
other lyrics that were penned in those valleys at that end of Borrowdale.

Cheers Bryan,Wasdale and DT for your replies now I know why I was at home with my Forum name Bryan Joshi and also this says that band members do read the
forum. I think I have been a few other places that Mostlies have been around our homeland, but I'm sorry I will not be attending any concerts this year
for personal reasons but all have a great time and see what happens next year.
