First of all I best say 'Hi' - im new here! (though listening to MA for a few years now and seen them live half a dozen times as well) Was at Burnley
last night to take my father and also my father-in-law and it was just fantastic - living in Blackburn and having them so close. Been to see them in
Wolverhampton and Bilston a few times (and Stratford once which was a good Christmas one) but that was the best I've seen them last night. Carpe Diem was
just fantastic, as was pass the clock and their usual top notch performances of Heroes Never Die and Evergreen - good mix of older and new stuff as well. I
have no idea what was going on with the lighting (for those not there, they kept switching the stage lighting off and the main hall lighting on - they sorted
it out after a few seconds or so but it was a little awkward and Heather looked completely brassed off with whomever was running the lights) though apart from
that, it really was a fantastic evening. Cant wait to see them again!!!

What more to add? As good as it gets, and to have Shrinking Violet and Mother Nature in one sitting ........
Thanks all concerned (lighting gremlin aside) for a grand night in Burnley! |

What everyone says. That was a superb gig, great performance and great setlist. Lovely to hear oldies like Shrinking Violet and Mother Nature, and Ghost in
Dreamland was a great one for Halloween night.
Mark of a great setlist is there was nothing I'd rather have heard in place of something they did play. Loved the costumes, especially Heather's "Evil Faerie". And did the tour rider specify that there should be a saucer of milk in the dressing room?

I really wanted to go to this gig and it seems I missed at least three of my favourite tunes. Does anyone have any photos? I'd love to see the Halloween
outfits.

Another good turnout and the band were on fine form. One feature of the older tunes is that there is more flute, so we see
more of that little black cat...

Many thanks to the band for allowing me to use my DSLR at the gig.

Thanks for the great pictures, sounds like a great gig a pity i missed out. The girls obviously made a great effort and Anne Marie looks purr- feect, time for
a cold shower.

Superb set of pics. Looks like Heather & Anne-Marie really went for it with the costumes. The whole thing looks very atmospheric. Must have been a great
show.

I'm really glad I got the chance to go to Burnley, because that was as good a performance as I've seen from the band for a while. The band were really
tight, and the revamped set-list worked a treat.
Nice pictures as well, Tim. |

Can't believe no one mentioned the fantastically theatrical intro, the spooky music, BJ's ominous presence, and Iain's intro that confirmed his
Bach isn't worse than his bite!

Exactly what I was wondering too, Jerry. Yes, it was everything everyone has written but it was also a show with a difference. For those who weren't there
it started with some spooky theme music from the film 'Halloween while Bryan stood motionless on stage dressed in full Michael Myers mask and outfit. Iain
Jennings (in witch's hat and make-up) then called up a suitable church organ sound and played the opening bars of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor
which somehow the band managed to segue into Fading Colours. As for the costumes, well here are some photos. The first link is to a slide show, the second to
the picture set.

A dramatic and breathtaking set of shots. Amongst the best on the site. It must have been a real good experience being in the audience as the band performed
all those classic tunes dressed in that spooky gear!

Thank you Roger, what fantastic photos, are you (if not you should be) the band's official photographer? I especially like the pre gig photos, more of
those in the future if possible please. And how does Heather get her face jewels to stay on? I doubt you would know the answer to that one, maybe from a
female perspective I could ask that question via the new blog?!
Bryan did look a bit too spooky for me though! xx |

That's an outstanding set of photos Roger. Let's hope tomorrow night will be as good atmospherically as it seemed at Burnley.
