Thanks for posting the set list, Darrell, and yes it was a superb show.
Due to circumstances this was our first M.A gig of the year, and it reminded us why we fell in love with this band in the first place... moving songs with genuine emotion, played superbly and with real passion. Also it was nice to say a quick hello to Roger and DT. Real gents. Picked up a copy of Live 2009, and will be playing it later today, with a good wine, and the lights dimmed. It was well worth the 3 hour trip from Preston, on the M6 carpark! Roll on York! |

As I was working near thereI was thinking of going, but put off by the advertised 9pm start. Didn't fancy hanging around in Wolvervampton for hours
before.

Dave,
I envy those who are able to go to York they are in for one hell of a treat believe me. Still I have Josh & Co to look forward to on the 13th December and I can not wait. Finally, my thanks go to my daughter Rebecca who paid for the ticket and the live CD, it was the best Christmas present a father could ever wish for. Andrew

davefromnewent wrote:In fact the band didn't come on stage until 9.05, and with the now customary 2 and a half hour plus set, and the break, it was about 11.50 when the show finished. It was a shame you couldn't have stayed, Dave, because it was an absolutely superb show. That may have been the shortest two and three quarter hours ever, the time just flew by. I could probably have happily listened to the band for at least another hour. Somehow, perhaps because they've revamped the set somewhat, the band have an energy that was, to a certain extent, missing in the shows they played earlier this year. Burnley was good, but Bilston was possibly the best Mostly show I've seen since the 'Storms...' shows in 2005. |

I competely agree with everything here - especially Mike's comments.
More seriously though, as a veteran of a ridiculous number of MA gigs I would put this gig in my top 5 MA gigs ever, certainly in terms of performance. They were as tight as an unmentionable part of a gnat's body and the sound that Dave Pickering pulled together was immense - powerful and yet wonderfully clear. |

I was lucky enough to be at The Robin 2 last Friday. Yet another majestic performance from a truly great band. Going to gigs just doesn't get much better
than this.

I agree, another superb performance, and one which more than made up for the disappointment of having to miss their last visit (and that of Breathing Space) to
the Robin earlier this year. In between enjoying the great music and atmosphere, I managed to take a few photos, although I - quite literally - suffered for
my art a few days later, with a really sore shoulder from holding the camera for far longer than I've been used to recently. Anyway, it was worth it - or,
at least, I think so
Take a look for yourself at: http://www.digitalsensor.co.uk - just navigate via the "Concert Photography" link. Hope that you like 'em! Here's to the next gig - Crewe! Cheers, Eddie. |

That's a good setlist*, and I'm always more disappointed about missing a gig when I see Shrinking Violet in there. I've just checked and if I'd
gone that would've been my 16th MA gig too! Instead it'll be Crewe on the 12th...
*Apart from Pocket Watch, which is the only song MA currently play that I don't like. Does it sound like an average Oasis song to anyone else?

There are some beautiful shots of the Bilston show here:-

I wonder if somebody is confusing "Pass the Clock" with "Pocket Watch"?
Last time I saw the band they didn't play either song...
